So this backpack is actually pretty amazing. Not only does it fit almost all of my nursing books, but it's sturdy and strong! So here's the story! I was walking home and tried to beat the crosswalk light. Spoiler alert: I didn't beat the crosswalk light. I get hit by a car and flip, landing with my entire weight onto the backpack. I had my Macbook Pro in the sleeve, and my phone in the side pocket netting. I just got HIT BY A CAR AND LANDED ON THIS THING. I I was completely alright. My ribs, hips, and right calf are bruised, but I'm no worse for ware. So, with my priorities straight, I immediately begin to worry about my phone as the driver is calling 911. And this side pocket is so awesome that the netting is keeping it perfectly in place! Not a single scratch! So I check up laptop because I LANDED ON IT WITH ALL OF MY WEIGHT! My laptop was 100% fine and dandy! This backpack is pretty freaking amazing. TOTALLY worth the money and just plain awesome! 10/10 recommend!

If you’re looking for a durable backpack with tons of storage space, look no further! This backpack is perfect for high school and college students, as well as adults. As a college student myself, I have worn through several backpacks over the years and several of my peers credited their High Sierra backpacks for their long lifespan and dependability. I finally caved and bought the Swerve last November and have absolutely loved using it ever since. My major criteria for selecting a new backpack were: (1) durability, (2) storage space, (3) affordability, and (4) adequate protection for electronic devices such as a personal computer. When comparing brands, High Sierra met all of my criteria, while its competitors were lacking in some areas. My Swerve looks brand new yet, has room to store all of the supplies I need for school and spare workout clothing, and was well within my price range (compare to previous backpack purchases of $80 and $110). Additionally, High Sierra boasts a fully padded computer sleeve fitting up to 17” laptops. My 3-year old MacBook Pro has notoriously had its hard drive cable replaced seven times. Hard drive cables on laptops are often worn from being carried inside a backpack and pushed up against books inside and that had been a constant problem with my past backpacks. Since switching to the Swerve, I haven’t had any problems with my laptop’s hard drive! My only major complaint about this product is that everyone seems to have a black High Sierra backpack – sometimes it’s hard to tell yours apart from others. My boyfriend actually had the Access backpack in black as well and even though the designs are different, it is difficult to tell at first glance. I have also heard that the zippers are poor quality, but I have yet to experience any difficulties or problems with mine. If anything I mentioned in my review as a positive characteristic for my top criteria matches up with your own, strongly consider the Swerve as your next backpack purchase. It’s an excellent, versatile product that will not disappoint and can meet just about any need or purpose you decide to use it for.

This is the best backpack I have ever owned. I am 72 years old and have had a lot of backpacks in those years. I am blessed with great physical health. So, I play competitive table tennis 5-7 times per week for 3-5 hours at a time. I wanted a backpack with a lot of good sized zippered compartments. I usually carry 4-5 table tennis paddles in their own zippered cases in the 2 large pockets. I have one pocket I use to for snacks and bottled coconut water, the small one at the top for my keys and some table tennis balls, and the 5th pocket holds my table tennis cleaning bottles and sponges. This bag is huge and exactly what I was looking for.
I have not tried to use it for my laptops, but there would be plenty of room. It is no wonder this backpack is ranked #1 in the brief cases category on Amazon. It his well made and the zippers work very well. Remember there are 2 pockets that are zipped under water protective lips. I imagine I could throw this pack in a lake and it would survive for a period without leaking.
The 1 think I had to fix were the shoulder straps. If you use both shoulder straps, no issue. But, they slipped off of my shoulder as I usually just sling the pack over one of my shoulders when I use it. So I purchased 2 of the (B07177XGKM) SongWei Replacement Shoulder Pads Velcro Adjustable with Memory Foam Long and Comfortable Black-2Pcs for $12.99 and they are awesomely cool and work great at a great price. I don't believe there is a better pair of shoulder pads for backpack straps on Amazon.
I love the size, the color and the quality.

Holds an enormous amount of stuff! I work 14 hour shifts at night and needed a pack that could hold school work plus activities to keep me busy on a long night shift. I carry college text books, notebooks, folders and my 15 inch laptop. Plus a couple coloring books, marker or pencil cases and a tablet. All of the needed cords and extention cord to plug everything in overnight. Spare battery packs, ear buds, and a pouch for my personal stuff. I even have room for a sweatshirt. Everything fits while making it easy to organize and retrieve without having to unpack half of the pack to get to anything. My pack weighs about 35 lbs to lift but feels light and balanced on my back. The only issue I have is that the straps cut a bit into the area by my arm pit because they are a bit wide. I am hoping over time the straps will break in a bit. Zippers work great and pockets are good sizes for ease of organization. I am able to lock the backpack using a lock with a long cord so it discourages anyone from opening it when I am storing the pack at work. I highly recommend the backpack if you need to carry a bunch of stuff and don't want to break your back. I ordered the black pack and it looks nice and pack does not look huge and fits in small spaces like under a seat on a plane. Great price and well built.

Have very similar bag but its now 7 years old so decided to renew it but good design so stuck with it. New bag arrived and is not far off same state the old bag is in, sticky zip, many loose threads not Quality I’d expect for price. I should have bought Amazons own version for less half price

I carry a lot of stuff around with me every day, a lot of heavy stuff, and before I got this backpack I was going through a new backpack every few months. I've had this backpack now for two years and have really used and abused it during that time. It's held up better than I ever expected to: no rips, no holes, no bursting seams, no frayed straps or broken zippers. The only damage is that some of the bottom piping is just now starting to rub off where the bag has sat on the ground or floor.
There are so many other things to love about the backpack (and High Sierra in general) beyond the quality of the construction:
-- Pockets. So many pockets and pouches and sections that you'll be spoiled for choice and wonder how you got along without so many options. The padded laptop section in the main pocket fits -- and more importantly protects -- my laptop really well, though I use it mostly for holding larger books and folders of paper. (My only gripe about the many pockets is that the bag gets a little front heavy if you put as much into the front pockets as they will hold so you'll be forever pulling the bag upright again, but it's a small gripe.)
-- The suspension system on the straps is fantastic. Most backpacks are fairly uncomfortable to carry after awhile if you carry a lot of stuff. The High Sierra suspension system has more give, making the weight easier to bear. (It also helps extend the life of the straps because there is less stress where the straps attach to the bag body when you pick up the bag.) The fact that both the inside of the straps and the back of the bag are padded make this probably the most comfortable backpack I've ever used.
I honestly can't recommend this backpack enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars La mejor mochila para universidad
Reviewed in Mexico on September 22, 2018Color: Black/Tropic Nights/TurquoiseVerified Purchase
Me encantó!
